Imposter Game App
Looking for an imposter app? Find the Imposter runs in any browser, installs on your home screen like an app, and has a free Android app on Google Play. Every word category is unlocked, with no subscription and no sign-up.
Three ways to get the imposter game app
Play instantly in the browser
Open findtheimposter.com on any phone, tablet or laptop and start a round. Nothing to download, and friends can join your online room from a link.
Install it as a web app
Add the site to your home screen on iPhone, iPad or Android. It gets its own icon and opens full screen, just like an app from a store.
Get the Android app on Google Play
Prefer a store app? The free Find the Imposter app for Android has the same game, the same categories and the same online rooms.
How to add the imposter game to your home screen
Installing takes a few seconds and uses almost no storage. You can remove the icon at any time, just like any other app.
Android (Chrome)
- 1.Open findtheimposter.com in Chrome.
- 2.Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner.
- 3.Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
- 4.Confirm, and the Find the Imposter icon appears on your home screen.
iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- 1.Open findtheimposter.com in Safari.
- 2.Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- 3.Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- 4.Tap Add. The game now opens full screen from its own icon.
There is no App Store version yet, so on iPhone and iPad the home screen web app is the way to get it as an app.
Find the Imposter on Google Play
On Android you can also install the official app from Google Play. It is free, it has every category, and it does not ask for a subscription.

| Best for | A quick round or joining from a link | Full screen play with one tap | Android players who like store apps |
All categories free, no subscription
Many imposter apps in the stores lock most categories or ask for a weekly subscription. Find the Imposter does not. Every category, from Food and Animals to Football Players and Movies, is open from the first round, along with Undercover Mode, Mr. White and online rooms for up to 15 players.
There is no account to create and nothing to buy. The website is supported by ads, so the game stays free for everyone at the table.
Imposter app FAQ
Is there an imposter game app?
Yes. Find the Imposter works as an app in three ways: in any browser, as a web app on your home screen (iPhone, iPad and Android), and as a free Android app on Google Play. It is the same game everywhere.
Is the imposter app really free, or is there a subscription?
It is free. All 50+ categories are unlocked, there is no weekly or yearly subscription, and you do not need to sign up to play.
Is there an imposter app for iPhone?
There is no App Store version at the moment. On iPhone or iPad, open findtheimposter.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The game then opens full screen from its own icon.
Do I have to install anything to play?
No. You can play right away in the browser. Installing only adds an icon to your home screen so the game opens faster and full screen.
Can friends on the app and in the browser play together?
Yes. Online rooms work the same on the website, the home screen web app and the Android app. Share the room code or link and everyone joins from their own phone.
How many players does the imposter app support?
3 to 15 players, either passing one phone around with Pass & Play or each on their own device in an online room.
