Hint Round
Give one word only that is connected to the main word.

Rules & How to Play
Find the Imposter is a free word-based party game. The crew receives a secret word; the imposter knows their role but does not receive that word. Give clues, discuss and vote.
Play with 3–15 people sharing one device, or 3–15 players in an online room. For a first round, try 4–6 players and one imposter.
Choose Pass & Play for one shared device or Online for separate devices. Pick a language and familiar categories, start with one imposter and agree on a round format. Read the cards privately before giving any clues.

In a Hint Round, give one word related to your secret word without saying it. Question Rounds use direct yes-or-no questions; Silent Rounds have no talking. Agree on the selected format before the first turn.
After everyone has given a clue, discuss who sounded vague, off-topic, or suspicious. Anyone can accuse anyone, the goal is to expose the faker.
In standard mode, the crew must catch every imposter without accusing an innocent player. Otherwise the imposters win. Follow the result shown by the game, including ties and any enabled special roles. A final word guess is not part of standard mode; Mr. White has a separate guessing rule in Undercover mode.
Four friends play Hint Round. Three see Keyboard; the imposter does not. The crew might say “typing”, “shortcut” and “desk”. The imposter tries “work”, which fits but is broad. Discuss the connection before voting: a vague clue alone is not proof. Keep the actual word off the shared screen. This is a practice example, not the next word you will receive.
Imposter Hint shows the category, not the secret word. It is on by default for new settings; the host can switch it off under Categories. For example, Office Life leaves many possible answers. This is separate from Hint Round, where players give one-word clues.

In Undercover mode, the crew and the undercover player receive different but related words. Optional Mr. White receives no word and can get a guessing chance if caught. Read the role explanation before starting.
Give one word only that is connected to the main word.
Ask one player a direct question to expose the imposter based on their answers. They may only answer yes or no.
No talking. Rely only on body language and intuition.
Keep your role private on your own device. Share paper when together, or arrange an external shared drawing board when remote. Take turns adding one stroke without talking, letters or numbers; discuss, then vote. This app has no built-in canvas.
Open Categories and choose Office Life for 40 familiar workplace words, such as Keyboard, Meeting room and Coffee machine. Keep only this category selected for an office-only round, or add others your group knows. It works in standard Pass & Play and online rooms; Undercover uses its own paired-word categories.
Join the same Zoom call or Discord voice channel, then open an online game room separately. Share the game invitation or code in your call chat. Each player reads their own role privately; do not screen-share the cards. Use the call for clues and discussion, and the game for voting. Discord is optional: use your usual group call instead.
