Quick guide to playing Guess Who
Two players, one board of 24 faces, one secret character each. Ask yes or no questions, flip the faces that no longer fit and name the other secret character first.
Your first round in four steps
- Choose how to play, then pick a board.
- Tap the card to see your secret character, remember it, then tap Got it.
- On your turn ask one yes or no question, flip the faces it rules out and end your turn.
- Sure about the answer? Tap Guess, then tap the face. A right guess wins, a wrong guess loses.
Playing online with a friend
Create a room and share the link, the QR code or the six-digit code. When your friend joins, each of you sees your own secret card. Write your question in the chat. Your friend answers with the Yes and No buttons under your message, then you flip faces and tap End turn. The number next to each name shows how many faces are still standing.
Playing on one phone
Type both names and pass the phone. Every turn starts with a cover screen so the other player never sees your board. Ask your question out loud. The player who answers can hold their name button to check their card while the other one looks away.
Playing against the bot
Tap Ask a question and pick one from the list. The bot answers honestly about its card, and the button under the answer flips every face that no longer fits. On its turn the bot asks you a question and the answer comes from your card.
Win more rounds
Start with questions that split the board in half, like hair colour or hats. Keep rare details for the end. Before you guess, count the faces still standing on your board.
Questions while you play
Can I stand a face back up?
Yes. Tap a flipped face again to stand it back up. Only your own board changes.
Do I have to ask a question every turn?
No. You can use your turn to guess instead. You cannot guess on the other player's turn.
What if the other player gives a wrong answer?
With a friend, answers come from players, so play fair. Against the bot every answer comes from the card, so it is always right.
Why does the room say my friend is reconnecting?
Their connection dropped or they left the page. The match stays open and they return to it when they come back. A room closes a few minutes after both players leave.
How does a rematch work?
After a round, start a rematch. You both get new secret characters on the same board and the other player starts.
