Quick guide to playing Football Bingo
One footballer at a time, 16 squares to fill. Each square on your card is a club, a country, a trophy, a league, a manager or a football fact. Put every player where he belongs and fill the whole card before your third mistake. Here is what matters while a card is running.
Your first card in four steps
- Pick Daily card (the same card for everyone today) or Random card, then press Play.
- Read the name above the card and tap one square he fits.
- Not sure? Press Skip. A star with lots of clubs and trophies? Press Wildcard.
- Fill all 16 squares for BINGO, then share your time and mistakes.
Lives, skips and the wildcard
Every card starts with 3 lives, 5 skips and 1 wildcard, shown in the bar above the card. A wrong tap costs a heart: the square stays open and that footballer is gone. A skip only costs the player, so it is the safe move when you are unsure. The wildcard drops the current footballer into every open square he fits. If he fits none, the wildcard is still spent, so check the card first. A card deals up to 25 footballers, enough to cover your skips and a few mistakes.
What is on every card
Each card has the same mix: 6 club squares, 3 national teams, 3 trophies, 2 football facts such as goalkeeper or left-footed, 1 league and 1 manager. Club squares count senior first-team spells only. A trophy square means he won it, so losing the final is not enough. Every footballer you are shown fits at least one square on your card.
Daily card and your streak
The daily card changes at 00:00 UTC and you get one go at it. When it ends, the page keeps your result and counts down to the next one. Win daily cards on back-to-back days to grow your streak. A loss or a missed day resets it to zero, while your best streak stays. Random cards are unlimited and never touch the streak, which makes them good practice.
Fill the card with fewer mistakes
Scan the whole card before your first tap. Small clubs and facts like goalkeeper have only a handful of possible names, so fill them when you get the chance. If a player fits a common square like Champions League winner and a rare one, use him on the rare one. Keep two skips for the end, when most players only fit squares that are already full. After the card ends, open squares show a footballer who would have fitted, which is a quick way to learn for tomorrow.
Football Bingo or Football Tic-Tac-Toe?
Football Bingo is a solo game: you are given the footballer and you choose the square. In Football Tic-Tac-Toe you face a friend or the computer and have to name a player who fits a row and a column at once. Want a daily puzzle you can finish in a few minutes? Play Bingo. Want a head-to-head match? Try Tic-Tac-Toe.
Questions while you play
Does skipping a footballer cost a life?
No. A skip only uses one of your 5 skips. The player does not come back, but your hearts stay as they are.
What happens if the wildcard finds no square?
The wildcard is used up and the next footballer appears. Play it on someone who clearly fits two or more open squares.
Is there a time limit?
No. The clock only records how long you take. Your time appears on the result and in the text you share, so speed is for bragging rights, not a rule.
Can I replay today's daily card?
Not once it is finished. The page shows your saved result until the next card at 00:00 UTC. Meanwhile you can play as many random cards as you like.
Why do some squares show a name after the game?
When a card ends with open squares, each one shows a footballer from that card who fitted it, so you can see the link you missed.
Where is my streak saved?
In this browser on this device. Private browsing or clearing site data can reset it, and another phone keeps its own streak.
Does a youth academy spell count for a club square?
No. A club square needs a spell in the senior first team. National team squares work the same way: he must have played for the senior side.
